Left at 9 am for San Pedro on Ambergris caye. Watched some dolphins playing around our boat on the way. Stopped at a small island for drinks and snacks, where 1 guy lives by himself for a month at a time taking care of it. Trades out with 2 other guys monthly. Very remote. No power etc. He seemed glad to see us when we got there. Then we ventured on to San Pedro. Along the route we spotted huge Iguanas in the trees sunning themselves and stopped at a dock where we fed Tarpons. It was so crazy as they almost swallowed my hand. Good thing they don’t have teeth. Then we dropped off 2 women in San Pedro who stayed there. After we left San Pedro we went out to the barrier reef for snorkeling. The water was crystal clear and we saw so many cool fish and stingrays. Then we stopped at a place where they were feeding the nurse sharks and Garnet swam with them. It was amazing watching them. We could pet them over the side of the boat. Their skin is like sand paper. After a hour of snorkeling etc we made our way to Caye Caulker Island. Checked into our quaint little hotel and ventured into town for supper and some shopping. Very few cars on the sand roads but golf carts everywhere. We wandered down to Iguana Reef Inn and watched the stingrays, pelicans and Nurse sharks being fed. Saw the most beautiful sunset then made our way back to a seaside restaurant for supper. Settled in our room across from the pier and visited with others on our excursion . It was a fantastic day.
